THE STORY ABOUT A BURNT BREAD

THE STORY ABOUT A BURNT BREAD

When I was a child, I recalled one evening when my mother returned home from a long day of work and placed a few slices of coal-black toasted bread on the table. But my father simply ate that piece of bread and inquired about my schoolwork as usual. I could not recall what I said to him, but I remembered hearing my mother apologizing to him for burning the bread. My father said to my mother at that time, “Honey, I like burnt bread.”

That evening, I went to say goodnight to my father and asked if he enjoyed burnt bread. And my father said, “Your mother has labored all day and is very exhausted. A piece of burnt bread cannot harm anyone, but do you know what can harm others? The severe criticisms”

Then he continued, “You know, life is full of flaws and flawed individuals. In addition to being poor at many things, such as remembering birthdays and anniversaries, I am also quite incompetent. I’ve learned over the years to embrace other people’s differences and accept their flaws.” 😇😇
